This is our transformational vision. There was enthusiastic support for this vision among the elders at our discussion, and all agreed that the discussion itself should be a model for all session meetings – discerning and articulating what God is calling us to do.
We all have points of contact and influence with people in our lives – from the people we routinely see behind the counter to our closest family members. Though the depth of relationships varies, we want the best for each of them. We believe everyone is created in the image of God and should be treated with love. Being a Christian requires we treat everyone with respect and think about how our decisions impact the whole world. All are beloved of God.
We have been taught by those who have gone before, impacted by Christian mentors and been given the Holy Spirit to live lives that recognize God in action. They will know we are Christians by our love. Jesus told the disciples what to do:
- Glorify God
- Grow Disciples
- Meet Human Need
Led by the Session, Ramah is embracing this three dimensional focus. We have seen our congregation do each of these three in the past. We have stories about it, and we have hope and a vision for the future in which we will do more of it. The session has chosen to express this three dimensional vision with the words REACH, GROW, SEND.
Our vision as a congregation is to REACH, GROW, SEND all who come under the sight of the ministry of the church and to equip each person to REACH, GROW, SEND in their daily life.
We will measure how well we are living out our vision by groups and individuals expressing with stories how each ministry in the congregation is fulfilling this charge.
We will live out our vision in the love of God. Our hope is that all the ones we know will live lives that demonstrate the fruits of the Spirit.
